A Rolla man is in custody in Phelps County after he allegedly shot an employee at a pharmacy and stole narcotics, according to a news release from the Rolla Police Department.
The man allegedly walked into Sinks Pharmacy in Rolla with a rifle demanding narcotics around 10:17 a.m., police say.
Officers initiated a pursuit using a forceable stopping technique, which disabled the subject's vehicle.
The employee who was shot was taken to the hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
Justin M. Wonsewitz, 41, was arrested for first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, police say. He is currently in the Phelps County Jail pending formal charges, according to online jail records.
