Dear Wizards and Witches of DragonVale!
We hope that you are having a good break with the Expansion Extravaganza! Continuing our summer activities, why don’t we go for a dive into the ocean?
We’re excited to announce our next event, Deepest Depths, which will run from July 4th 8AM MST until August 21st 8AM MST!
What’s new:
- New permanent dragons (please note that the term "permanent" in this case refers to the new dragons available during the full duration of the event);
- New limited dragons (including the long-awaited Quadruple Leap Year dragon!);
- New thematic decorations;
- A new NPC;
- A new habitat;
and more!
Let’s hop into this aquatic adventure together!

Yeah, good point. But it would have looked cool! :-)
I was kind of excited about the event with the ads, but it's just another event with different dragons.
I was kind of excited about the new habitat, but bummed it's not a reward and only holds water.
I was kind of excited that Giant Treasure Habitats and Yarr dragons are available, but a little bummed that there will be an "End of Event Battle" over these and the Aquarium habitats with 7 dragons and 5 million DC! (that 1 billion Park Value / Habitat earnings from Ts'aishen Super Long Term Goal looks a little more achievable ... maybe :)

Aquarium habitat is a bit steep at 9000 EC. Giant Treasure is just 3000, which lets you get 3 for a total of 10.5 mil. Sure it takes more dragons and space, but I've been at it breeding Yarr dragons to complete my second huge island. It will take 24 habitats costing just 72k EC. I already have the required 120 dragons.

Yeah, I thought about that. It's more of upgrading Treasures (as opposed to buying) and buying Aquarium (which involves selling the least Max DC habitats (Rainbow, Apocalypse, Seasonal, Snowflake)) where applicable.
So for me upgrading gets me and extra 1.5 million, where as buying gets me 3.75 million per habitat. And I'm mostly out of space to expand Treasures.
Again, this is to get Park Value to 1 billion DC (an odd quest to say the least :)
Speaking of space, it may also depend on the size of the Aquarium habitat. If it's an 8x8 then that's Giant Treasure size, so it's limiting. If it's 6x6 or 7x7, I can make things work.
Hmmm.. This all may come down to how many doubloons I have left which is based on how lucky I am with breeding the new dragons and also if I want to buy the remaining 7 themes to max out to 42, which really should be moved to a lower priority... maybe.
Definitely something new to think about during the event!

Aquarium Habitat has 7 dragon capacity at 5,000,000 dc capacity. It is 15x15.

Whoa!!! That's ridiculously massive! I found a pic on Reddit, and was about to do a comparison. I am flabbergasted by the size.

15x15?!?!?! Geesh!! I have no room for that without serious re re rearranging!

An island mostly for itself. Although it will fit nice into an underwater design theme.
I see it on The Triplets there, but if on a Standard Island it may block some islands behind it with its height if not on a perimeter island.
I like its design and that it exists for water dragons that may do better (lore wise) in larger body of waters than the Paradise and Water habitats.

Agree. Love all about it except the size. Am I right in doing some quick thinking that only 1 aquarium will fit on a standard island and only 4 fit on a gigantic island and only 3 on the triplets?
Bane Cane·43m
I think that is correct. One for each "part" of the Triplets, and four on the giant islands with four side-by-side being a 30x30 squares out of the 40x40 squares available.

I have added 15x15 to the island sandbox tool. Once it is approved it should go live. You are right that only a single can fit on a standard island and four on the giant islands, but, unless the size is wrong for The Triplets, I believe only the left and top sections can accommodate the new habitat.
What do you think?
